Do you feel nervous because of your accent when you have to speak in English?
To help you sound like a native English speaker, I will first work with you to understand your own accent in English. Then I will give you fun and effective exercises to help you practice and become confident communicating in the language.
Accent and Corporate coaching for International clients.
Since 2016 I have been professionally language and accent coaching online and during Covid I increased this activity so that I now have a developed sense of how to create the awareness for the individual of how they are communicating and how to communicate differently. This is complemented by my fluency in the English, French, Spanish, Italian and Swedish languages. Growing up bilingual in the French and English languages I have experience of the special ways of thinking of bilingual, multi-lingual and multi-cultural children and adults.
My training: I have a Master’s degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, CELTA TEFL certificate from the University of Cambridge so I have lots of exercises to help you improve your English and accent.
Personally I come from at least three cultures, love hearing voices and accents and would not consider “removing” an accent. However, we all have a choice about how we sound and just as a fashion stylist supports a client with their wardrobe to create their image, I believe that the voice and accent coach supports a client with expressing their true selves. Nothing is added or removed, we just work on awareness and the change comes from you.
In practice, this looks like sitting down together in person or online and just practicing speaking and listening. We create a map of what to focus on and then we work on the individual sounds and music of your speech by practicing exercises, using recordings and texts to build your awareness. You will actually learn a lot about how to listen. This work gets personal so you must want to explore and go on a journey.
